Walking in Suberbia

Last week I bought a pair of shoes online for the first time. I only got into the whole E-commerce thing recently and, like many others, I'm sure, I was worried about buying shoes online cause you kinda need to try them on first, right? well, since I  started buying clothes online it became increasingly tempting to try it out, especially because I have not been able to find the exact pair I wanted in a regular store. This pair has got it all- it's an everyday boot, with high but stable heels, it's got the army look going on and the rough bottom and on top of all- the oxford pattern in the front...I could not ask for more. Plus, they are definitely wearable! So for all of you out there who are scared of online shopping- don't be!  (but check for the return policy first)

I am also adding a few pics from the suburban surroundings...a few garden gnomes, the new cat we rescued a while ago and our prince- Boten the dog.

Faux Pas

Winter is finally here! and nothing is more fitting than this faux fur vest, not too heavy yet still makes you warm.
Everyone who knows me knows I'm a major animal lover so I'm really happy the real fur trend is losing its heat and now I've heard even Hollywood has banned real fur. you can read more about that here

I bought this vest last fall, when this trend was still not that big and I thought it was really cool and innovative and special...well, now every other person has something similar but I think it's still smoking hot!
It rained here all weekend and we spent the entire day at my parents' house, where we ate soup and  casserole and laughed a lot. Needless to say - I love winter time.

Versace for h&m

Ok, so obviously most of you have  heard of Versace's line for h&m that should be released in a few days. I am not Versace's biggest fan but I really admire the way they stay true to themselves and keep their own style. Their colors are always bright and dominant and the shapes are very feminine, glamorous and sexy. They sure like the "rich bitch" thing. In any case, in this price range that they are offerring through h&m, almost anyone can afford an item and almost anyone can find something that they like in this collection (even just a regular pair of black tights or a leather jacket).

All these collborations the designers are doing with "low" fashion stores (as opposed to high fashion or haute couture) realy indicate a change in the way the fashion industry percieves itself today, sort of like the democratization of fashion, the motto is "fashion for everyone", and since the big recession of 2008 the motto is also- fashion does'nt have to be expensive. The fact that such a veteran, high-profile brand like Versace would even consider doing such a line indicates a real transformation in the fashion business but also in the world of consumersim in general.
Seems like globalism and the ecommerce have such an effect that even Donatella couldn't ignore.

After all these words- here are a few images of the pieces I would'nt mind having...

you can view the entire collection here.

Party Time!

Yesterday me and my friends had a party. It's the second time we've had one this year and it's really cool we got to do it on this rare date- 11.11.11. We had some 400 people coming and it was incredible! especially for the occasion I added a few of my girlfriends to the shoot and we had the best time, everyone was really into it, we had some wine and danced and fooled around...and after that we headed on to the party. needless to say we were all very drunk by the end of the night so it's really good we had these photos taken beforehand so we can have something to remember this evening by:)
Thanx to all my ladies for this absolutely amazing shoot!!! and a special thanx to the most talented photographer I know...xxx

The Supermodels are back...and they're mad!

When I was growing up I was obsessed with models. It was the 90's and the supermodels were literally  everywhere, especially in music videos and I think that's what made me become interested in fashion in the first place. I used to watch the videos and then go buy the fashion magazines. at first I was only looking for the models but as time went on I started to actually notice the clothes they were wearing....In any case by 2000 models were out and celebrities were in. maybe it was a good thing, I'm not sure but I kind of missed those amazon girls.  Today I saw Duran Duran released a video with 90's models portraying the band members so I decided to make a compilation of supermodel videos for all times sake. enjoy!
p.s If you got any more videos feel free to share them:)

Back to School Again!

This week all the students in my country went back to school. I thought my school years were over after already studying for two degrees, one in history and one in religion studies, but this year I'm taking a course in fashion marketing and trade and I'm loving it. This is what I wore to class- very casual and comfortable but with an edge. what did you wear?
