COS

The snow is gone now, hopefully until next year. Spring still seems far away but we try to fool ourselves by turning up the heating and then opening the window just a little to feel like its a warm summer evening with a cold breeze from the sea...really pathetic, isn't it? who ever thought we would miss summer?? Anyway, here's a few pics from a snowy morning. I had a major purchase at COS- my new favorite store. This coat is actually not warm enough for zero degrees but it's so gorgeous I could not resist myself:)

Firmoo Glasses

I was recently approached by Firmoo glasses to introduce their glasses on my blog. I must admit, i normally don't do giveaways and things like that but this came at a really good time because I was getting sick of my glasses (Tom Ford) and needed new ones so I thought- why not give it a shot? I was pleasantly surprised by the service, which was very fast and by the quality- I had never ever bought prescription glasses online before, I'm used to doing all those optometry tests before buying glasses, plus I always thought you can't buy glasses without trying them on first, right? well, it was easier than I thought. I just went on their website, picked a pair I liked (you can also upload your photo and see if the glasses fit you) and about 10 days later it arrived by mail with two cases and a kit for repair, very convenient. I put them on and my vision was perfect- big surprise there:) The cool thing about Firmoo is that they are having a big promotion now so any of you can actually order a first pair for free!! They also have sunglasses and you can order without prescription if you're into that. Good luck!

Christmas!!

My first Christmas in the Netherlands (and in general actually, since back home we don't celebrate Christmas at all) and it's been nothing but fun all around - getting a tree and decorating it together, all the stores play happy holiday songs, santas in the streets and yummy olie ballen everywhere ..what can I say? it's a magical holiday and it really lights up the city and brings warmth where it sure is needed!
I would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a great and exciting new year:)

Sweater & Leather

I have a thing with leather, it doesn't have to be real but I just love it, it makes everything look more rock n' roll. I always prefer it black because that's just the color that compliments it most but Zara's new collection has really put leather in the spotlight this winter and combined it with everything and I mean EVERYTHING- from t-shirts to sweaters to wool coats and tights. The store looks like an S&M shindig...
Anyway- this sweater is really cool because of the contrast between the over-sized coziness and the fitted sleeves that actually look like long gloves (which I was planning to get myself anyway), especially when worn with leather gloves, and with this weather now I really need any cover I can get!

Mixed Up

Wow, it's been a while. I've been so busy, between work, writing another blog, hosting friends and traveling across Europe (well, more like one trip to Paris) even taking the time for a few pictures seems like a lot. This weekend was all about art and culture- yesterday we went to see the Andy Warhol Exhibition, which was actually only one work called The Last Supper. I never particularly liked Andy Warhol but he was and still is such a pop icon I just had to see it for myself. I must admit that I wasn't that impressed, especially since only one print was on show and it's basically Leonardo De Vinci's Last supper, printed twice on a big pink canvas. Today we went to the Hermitage Museum and saw the Van Gogh  exhibition (again) as well as a special exhibition of impressionism. Now, that was impressive! Whenever I see Van Gogh's work I get all emotional, in a way that I just can't explain, just like when I'm reading Kafka's short stories.
Anyway, this is what I wore. I love mixing up casual wear and more elegant pieces like this tuxedo jacket and sweatshirt, which I wore upside down, matched with leggings and my new Brandy backpack. That way I never feel overdressed or under-dressed and it just feels very cool. P.S my boots are by Manas and are super comfortable, one of my best buys.
