Portraits

Me and my husband had some fun today with the camera for a portrait I needed for a new blog I am starting to write about my new life here in Amsterdam. If anyone is interested in reading it (in Hebrew) log on to http://www.maveze.co.il/ in the next few days or enjoy the rest of the blogs there (there's tons of them).

It was hard for me to choose just one but in the end I chose the one displayed here last.
And now I'm thinking about getting this haircut - like the bottom photos with one side of my head shaved! I rather like it:) what do you think?

At Home

I started working in an office here in the city, amazing location, great people yada yada yada...and it's actually the first time in my life I really have to dress up for work, which is fantastic I think. So today when I got dressed for work I thought why not take a picture of my outfit and show off our gorgeous porch while I'm at it? (kudos for my husband for the gardening work). It is quite a challenge to dress somewhat conservatively and still feel chic; I found out a lot of my clothes do stand out a bit too much at times. Still in cases like this I believe you can never go wrong with a black blazer on a cool top, paired with some wedges and puffy hair...

Happy Days

It has been a busy week with lots of exciting events- my friend Hadas came to visit us and she brought our dog for us so we had an amazing family reunion, plus we spent the whole week together, taking trips, walking around the city, having a picnic in the park near our house and eating very very well...
These pictures were taken in Volendam, a small fisherman town with a boardwalk near the sea. It felt so good to sit in the sun and watch the boats!

Birthday at the Supperclub

Last week was my birthday and we wanted to celebrate, after the hermit-like life style we had in the past few weeks, with all the rain etc.
My husband wanted to surprise me so he took me to the Supperclub here in Amsterdam.
It was quite an experience, even though i think it wasn't their busiest night in the week. it is located in a small alley in the city center and there is absolutely no indication at the door that you have arrived. there is no sign, just a Gothic heavy iron door with a lot of little golden squares with various names engraved on them.
we rang the doorbell and entered a big dark room with crazy pictures that seemed like they belonged on the set of True Blood. the host was super nice as she escorted us to the main hall. it basically looks like a club only there are elevated white sofa beds surrounding the space, where you can lie down and relax while a 4 course dinner is served. the DJ played chill out tracks and there was also a very eccentric show, as you can see in the pictures below. all in all it was a very cool experience, the food was good (but not the best you've ever had) and the atmosphere was quite unique.
